Easiest/Cheapest way to get from FLL airport to Miami Beach?

I’m flying into FLL airport and need to get to Miami Beach area. It wouldn’t be feasible to rent a car, and a taxi is going to be extremely expensive. Any ideas?

If renta-cars, and cabs are not an option, here is only one feasible idea, link below:

At least most of your trek will be by train though.

… from Ft Lauderdale Airport take the shuttle to the Tri-Rail station … which should be free … if not it cost $1.25 …. once at the Tri-Rail station purchase a ticket going south to MetroRail Transfer Station ..this cost $4 …. once at the MetroRail Station pay ur ticket which is $2 and purchase a bus transfer in the machine inside the station which cost 50 cents … and catch the south bound train to Government Center … get down a go down stairs and walk a block down the street and catch one of the many buses .. to miami beach ….. give the transfer to the bus driver and done .. the buses going to the beach all have letters usually the K,L,M,O ..pick one and have a fun trip in total the ride to the beach is $8

    Adding to what Dougie said:

Pick up the free tri-rail shuttle ( a white mini -bus) at the County bus stop to the left outside arrivals at each terminal.

Metro-Rail runs every 10-30 min. depending on time of day, but Tri-Rail is a commuter line that runs every half hour at rush hours; every hour during mid-day; every two hours on weekends and not at all from about 10:00 PM to 5:00 am. So if your timing is right this works. Go to for schedules.

Dougie has it all down right but you can also take a shuttle from the airport to Miami, google the airport shuttle info for Fll to Mia

There are shared rides cabs that you can take from FLL. There is a shared ride stand outside the pickup area, next to the other stands.

Shared ride is WAAAAYYY cheaper than other cabs/taxis.

It would probably cost you less than $40 to get to Miami Beach with a shared cab. I would consider it, instead of taking buses and trains. Public transportation in south florida is huge pain.
