Why are people still expecting Miami to do good?

I’ve looked at people’s East ranking on yahooanswers, and they usually rank Miami 4 - 6th in the East. Whenever I see this I think their stupid because they barely got the 6th seed last year, even with Shaq and Dwayne Wade both healthy near the end. They got sweeped in the playoffs. Most of their players are aging, and they lost Jason Kapono. Dwayne Wade is injury prone, and Shaq is probably more injury prone. Also they lost all 6 of their preseason games, and yet people still think there a championship team.

Don’t worry, they will not even make the playoff spot this year……………………………………..

Because the East is weak! I see them as a 4th or 6th seed, and their division *****!

Preseason doesn’t mean anything. The Hawks are 5-1. Sure we’ll be seeing them in the playoffs….. not.

Shaq and D-Wade were never healthy at the same time last season, and many of their players were injured too. I think Udonis Haslem was the only player who started about every game.

But yeah, I don’t think they’re a championship team, unless Shaq and D-Wade can stay healthy the whole season, and they manage to play against a weak West team. The team isn’t old at all… it’s just Shaq and Zo’ and I guess Penny Hardaway too now.

Both Wade and Shaq are all-stars. That’s why.

Wasn’t that the same thing people said 2 years ago when Shaq and Alonzo went down . Oh the Heat are done, and the ended up beating Dallas four straight times against that MVP Dirk whatever his last name is.I expect them to make the playoffs and have a better season b/c last year that was a Junior Varsity team playing with the name Heat on their Jerseys. With a healthy Shaq and Dwyane , Udonis, and Alonzo, and Jason Williams we can go far. I have not seen Detroit,Washington do anything this off-season.

    What are you talking about?

    1) Miami was the 4th seed last year, not 6th.
    2) Dwayne Wade was not healthy when Miami was in the playoffs. He came back prematurely from a dislocated shoulder and wasn’t near ready to play. He just came back for his team.
    3) We lost all 6 of our preseason games, for the most part playing without our best 4 players.
    4) Wade is injury prone? The 2 years before this year, he played 75+ games each year.

We will be anywhere from 2nd seed to 5th seed this year.

The Heat are done for 5 or 6 years. the destruction of them in the playoffs by the Bulls marked the end for their very brief uprising. D Wade won’t be enough to lead an entire team of dinosaurs even though he IS good. They are gonna get the 12th pick in the draft with a losing season (32-50).

They are not a championship team. Period.
For them to become a playoff team, they need at least D.Wade or Shaw healthy for the majority of the season. The rest of the team, no offence, are barely supporting cast, with shaq so injury prone and d.wades shoulder being a big question mark this season, i think their championship run is over.
